Refuting Opposing Worldviews

We now come to the most important part of the apologetic enterprise. It is very easy for people to simply outwardly deny something that we all know to be true. Hence, someone can say that they simply do not believe that the physical world is real, for example. We all know deep down that they do not in fact believe this, but there is no way to formally prove that they are lying. This is why proving anything in a positive sense is so difficult. It still must be done as we must prove our assertions, and I have accordingly demonstrated the truth of biblical Christianity. But people will still try to get around this by denying one or more of the basic points that I discussed. We have already, under our discussion on philosophy, seen the primary ways that people do this. What is not so easy to do is to deny blatant inconsistencies within one’s own position. Hence, we will now show that all other religions, philosophies, and worldviews have fatal internal problems and, therefore, when biblical Christianity alone is left standing, it becomes impossible not to see the power behind the positive evidence. This does not mean that when I am finished with this section everyone who reads it will quickly bow the knee to Christ. On the contrary, that is something that only the Holy Spirit can effectuate. Even those who may be intellectually convinced will still not be willing to submit to that truth with their life simply because they do not wish to follow Christ. Most others, while being convinced intellectually, will still not want to admit that they are wrong and will continue to stubbornly defend that which cannot be defended. But to all those with an open mind, we will see in a very final way that only biblical Christianity can stand the test of full intellectual scrutiny.

While many of the first principles or other points that I have addressed thus far can be somewhat easily discarded without fear of contradiction, it is not so easy with the moral argument. Therefore, I wish to return to this argument. No matter how hard people try, no one can consistently deny absolute moral principles. Hang around anyone long enough and you will see that she or he believes in universal moral principles. And if these moral principles exist, we must ask where they come from and why they are so binding. If they did not come from absolute perfection itself, why are we bound to obey them? The only answer is that we are not. Hence, absolute perfection must exist. Now, many can certainly deny many of the attributes that I attributed to God, or absolute perfection. It is really rather silly to do so, but it can be done and there is not much we can say other than that is nonsense. But it is not so easy to do when it comes to the attribute of love. Can absolute perfection
